You create a listing for something you've lost, had stolen or that has gone missing OR you've found.
Once completed your listing is searchable on the major search engines, and within the LOFOSTO custom search system.
Other individuals that may be looking for whatever it is you have listed will find your listing and contact you to arrange recovery of the thing.
To ensure all the data being displayed is as fresh as possible each listing will have a 30 day or higher expiration date. You'll receive a notification 5 days before your listing expires asking you to login and restore it.
Restoration is "FREE" you don't get double tapped for a paid listing!
You can restore a listing indefinitely but only in chunks of 30 or more days.
You've likely got a busy life, if whatever it is you've listed has been returned to it's owner but you've forgotten to remove the listing you'll find this feature will take care of it for you and then you'll not receive anymore notifications from our system.
For data integrity reasons and to ensure only humans are posting on our site and not bots or nefarious actors you'll be required to create an account to list anything and in some other places as well such as community commenting.
While it's true we allow posts in the US, Canada and the UK our financials are all US based so we would prefer payment in USD. We can also accept payment via PayPal, and interac e-Transfer (Canada) please contact us directly for this service.
No. We can't guarantee your listing will get in front of the right person but it will surely boost your chances!
Refunds will be on a case by case basis. Please contact us to discuss the reasons why you believe you're entitled to a refund.
We would recommend still posting on social media but including your link to your LOFOSTO public listing. That way your lofosto listing acts as a central hub for all leads and enquiries relating to whatever it is you listed! It will also give you a limited amount of anonymity if you're worried about putting your details all over social media.
Furthermore some of the more active social media lost and found groups are so active that your post may be lost in a sea of other similar posts making it hard for people to find yours!
Never say never, but for now we're concentrating on the holy trinity of the US, Canada and the UK.
